Talk show host and American icon Ellen DeGeneres lives in a sprawling Californian mansion with her wife Portia de Rossi.
On her hit show Ellen, the star likened her home during lockdown to prison, saying: "This is like being in jail. It's mostly because I’ve been wearing the same clothes for 10 days and everyone in here is gay.”
However, the 62 year old's home is the furthest thing from jail with its chic design and abundance of space, which she purchased back in 2019 for a whopping $27million (£21.7million).

The hill-top property with sweeping views comes complete with five bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, a guest house with two bedrooms and a cabana hut which is also used as a gym.

The most enviable aspect of Ellen's house in lockdown is the gigantic garden, with large lawn and boulders to climb. A feeling of freedom during lockdown is hard to put a price on.
In a clip from her show, which Ellen has been hosting from inside her home, we are afforded a glimpse into one of her living rooms.
With floor-to ceiling windows looking out at the landscape behind and sculptural furniture it looks like the perfect place to relax, minus the masked man in the background!
This sweet snap of the couple's pair of pooches is set in one of their many bedrooms and we can see that there is also a bathtub in the room. What luxury! Plus the slate grey colour scheme adds to the natural vibe of the house.
Portia and Ellen's kitchen is huge which is just as well because Portia has been cooking a lot during lockdown, with mixed success.
There is a large blue kitchen island and chrome oven and cabinets – very chic!

Aside from many places to enjoy the Californian sun, the pair also have a roaring fire to relax in front of.
There is also a mushroom-coloured grey suede sofa which matches the 1950s style chairs.
The dining table is gold which looks amazing on top of a bronze rug. Again we are struck by the abundance of natural light that floods the house.
Plus, that dinner looks delicious!
There are many places to cosy up in Ellen and Portia's abode, with a large brown sofa filled with animals being perhaps the number one spot.
In this room the TV stars have elected to have many interesting sculptures as well as a coffee table stacked with art books and low lighting to provide ambiance.
