With salons staying shutting their doors for months on end, plenty of us have had to learn to colour, condition and even cut our own hair at home. Even celebrities are taking hair care matters into their own hands nowadays, from Holly Willoughby's home dye to Chrissy Teigen’s wigs. And Jessie J is the latest famous face to undergo an at-home hair transformation.
Although best known for her sleek brunette bob and statement fringe, which she debuted in her Do It Like A Dude music video 10 years ago, Jessie has been letting her hair grow into a longer, more natural style during lockdown.
But it appears the star missed her iconic hairdo, as she has picked up the scissors to lop off the lengths herself, documenting the process on Instagram as she goes.

Combing her wet, shoulder-length hair straight, Jessie then snips it to about her chin, starting with the front section. Halfway through, when the back section is still long, she stops to laugh at her appearance.
“I look like a jellyfish!” she jokes.
After she’s finished, Jessie shares a shot of her floor covered in hair, which shows that she appears to have taken a good six inches off.

But it seems that the Price Tag singer may have been a little more heavy-handed with the scissors than she would have liked. Halfway though, Jessie appears shocked at how much hair she has chopped off.
“I can’t believe I just cut my hair that short!” she says.
She also reveals that she accidentally missed a section at the back, joking that it looks like a rat’s tail.

Jessie clearly wasn’t too concerned about this though, as she posted a video to her Instagram grid laughing over the wonky cuttings.
“It looks like life right now… Uneven,” she captioned the post. “Needed to shake myself up today and this was exactly what I needed!”
“The short bob is back baby yeah,” she added.
Despite this, the end result is seriously impressive, as she poses in the sun to show off her neat, glossy crop with a longer fringe parted in the middle.
While she’s normally seen sporting some form of brunette bob, Jessie, like all good pop stars, has also experimented with her hair in the past. Last year she filmed herself dancing around wearing a lilac wig, and she also recently wowed fans by revealing her natural curls.
