Love them or hate them, Crocs have become one of the most talked about shoes since they launched back in 2001.
There’s been a controversy over them since their first launch, but that hasn’t stopped shoppers purchasing all 300 million pairs that have been sold – we’re as shocked as you are!
The brand has launched an array of styles over the years and have collaborated with high fashion brands such as Liberty London and Balenciaga which saw a 9,900% global spike in demand for the shoe describing it as ‘Croc girl Summer’.
Crocs have also launched influential collaborations with some pretty big names such as Justin Bieber and Post Malone which also saw a huge spike in sales, but which celebrity has influenced sales the most you ask? The answer is very interesting and you may be shocked that these celebrities we’re even spotted in them.
A new study from The Sole Supplier has revealed the world’s biggest ‘Crocfluencers’ (celebrity crocs influencer) and the results are in. Third place goes to the adorable Prince George who sent the world in a frenzy for his navy blue crocs in 2015 while watching his dad play the polo – so adorable.
Another style icon spotted in the foam clogs is Kate Middleton, yep that’s right, The Duchess of Cambridge was seen wearing red crocs in 2007 whilst training with the Sisterhood Rowing Team, she may have only come in at 13th place on the Crocfluencer leaderboard but the Duchess still caused a stir and a 456% spike in demand after being spotted in them.
But in first place, is Nicki Minaj which saw a whopping 4,900% rise in demand just last month wearing hot pink, blue and black crocs, it must be the year of lockdown getting to our heads!
Well there you have it, whether you’re for or against them, Crocs will live to fight another day.
