KFC price list: How much is your favourite KFC meal now?

To help the UK economy recover from the effects of COVID-19, Chancellor Rishi Sunak announced VAT for the hospitality and tourism sector would drop. From Wednesday, July 15, restaurants, cafes and takeaways will be subject to a lower VAT rate of five percent down from 20 percent. But it’s not only businesses who are expected to benefit from the change, with many food businesses pledging the VAT cut will be directly reflected in their prices.

Has KFC slashed its prices?

Following the Chancellor’s announcement, KFC said the introduction of VAT reduction is “welcome news” in a statement on Twitter.

KFC said: “The VAT reduction comes at a time of continuing economic uncertainty, so it’s an important initiative in terms of supporting our restaurants and teams, as well as the recovery of our whole sector. It’s welcome news.

“Equally, our fans have been amazing over the past few months, so we are rolling out price reductions across our menu too.”

Is KFC part of ‘Eat Out to Help Out’?

Chancellor Rishi Sunak announced the “Eat Out to Help Out” scheme earlier this month, to encourage people back into restaurants.

Under the scheme, all day every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, restaurants will be able to offer a 50 percent discount to customers which they can claim back from the Government.

The total discount is capped at £10 per customer, and can be used to spend on food and non-alcoholic drinks when dining in.

The scheme will run from August 3 to August 31, 2020.

KFC has indicated it will register for the Chancellor’s Eat Out to Help Out Scheme so customers could see even more savings next month.

Other restaurants who have indicated they will join the scheme include Frankie & Benny’s, Nando’s, Pizza Hut and Wagamama, to name a few.

All restaurants can register for the scheme via the Government website.
