Mrs Hinch fans cleaning hack leaves microwaves sparkling – and it costs 21p

Cleaning your microwave can be a tough job – especially if you've got stubborn food hanging around in there.

You can spend hours and hours scrubbing away and still feel like you've made no progress.

But some cleaning fans have found a sneaky hack that has your microwave looking spotless.

And here's the best part… it only costs 21p!

Mrs Hinch, whose real name is Sophie Hinchliffe, 32, has long been a fan favourite, with close to 4.5million followers on Instagram.

The star rose to fame a few years ago with various home hacks and now her fans have even started dedicated cleaning pages on social media.

It was in one of these Facebook groups that the hack was found.

One of the members posted: "What does everyone use to clean the inside of a microwave?”

Taking to the comments, Carol Waring wrote: “Lemon juice in water and put on high for a couple of minutes. Stains will wipe off.”

Another said: "I use lemon juice. It also leaves a lovely fresh smell afterwards.” Another added.

A third commented: “Lemon in a bowl of water for five minutes.”

And a fourth wrote: “I also use lemons, great 21p hack for sparkling microwaves.

Seriously, lemons are your best friend when it comes to cleaning, they can be used for loads of different jobs.”

And a fifth added: “Orange peel does the trick too.”

Others recommended using Elbow Grease to help dislodge any stubborn stains or grease.
