A mum has revealed how she ditched the UK in favour of Dubai when the new coronavirus measures kicked in.
Shona Sibary, from West Sussex, booked her flight the moment she was faced with the prospect of tougher restrictions.
The parent was living in Tier 4 restrictions at the time with her husband Keith and children Flo, 22, Annie, 20, Monty, 18, and Dolly, 11.
But fearing her household was "ready to kill each other", the mum decided to jet to Dubai with Keith and their youngest child.
Writing for Daily Mail, Shona claimed the only thing getting her by was the thought of her two eldest kids going back to education.
Then the mum's hopes were dashed when the government announced schools and colleges would remain closed.
Flashbacks of the first lockdown came into Shona's mind and she didn't want a repeat of last time.
She wrote: "This time around, however, what were the prospects?
"Eight hours of grey, insipid daylight followed by darkness descending at 4pm? No thank you very much."
Instead of staying in the UK, Shona, along with her husband and Dolly, headed straight to Dubai, leaving her three eldest at home.
After seeing Keith pack his bags to return to work in Dubai last week, the mum decided to take a bigger case with schoolbooks.

Now Shona knows just how lucky she is to "homeschool in paradise" as her husband Keith lives and works in Dubai.
At first, she only planned to stay for a few weeks, but now the UK is in full lockdown meaning she won't be able to return for a while.
She added: "Why would I go back? The time difference works perfectly for Dolly and me.
"Having never been a morning person and someone who has always been perpetually late for the start of school.
"I now relish this serendipitous head-start to my day."
Shona's day begins with a smoothie and 45-minute swim with her daughter Dolly before heading back for her first online class.
She admitted: "To be frank, I'm not that fussed if we don't keep wholly on top of the academics.
"I hardly think, in the grand scheme of things, it will matter that much and I'd far rather she was outside enjoying the sunshine."
Her eldest Flo, who works a 9-5 job, has the role of looking after the house and the dogs with Monty.
Although she feels guilty about leaving the others behind, Shona is "constantly monitoring them" and insist they're doing fine.
