In surprising news from the week, Pixie Lott is expecting her first child with her husband Oliver Cheshire. We say surprise because we've seen her out and about in recent weeks with a perfectly concealed baby bump, so the news that she's six months along is quite the revelation for her fans.
And in other surprising Pixie news from the week, the singer also tried out a new hairstyle to reveal her baby news – a cut that has her Instagram followers comparing her to the likes of Princess Diana and model Agyness Deyn.
The new "French girl" crop was debuted on Instagram by Pixie's MUA and hairstylist Gemma Wheatcroft.
"PIXIE. Fresh Face and French Crop for glowing mumma-to-be @pixielott. This Morning for @thevoicekidsuk Promo. Makeup using @fentybeauty Hair Using @kevinmurphyuk bedroom hair," Gemma captions the glam snap.
The Cry Me Out singer, 32, then posted a few selfies of her own – and they've really got followers talking.
"Giving Agyness Deyn!," says one, comparing Pixie to the famous model.
Another writes: "It’s giving….. Princess Diana. congrats on your babe news, love you Pixie!!!"
A third says: "Slytherin behaviour," with a fourth chiming in with: "Paula Yates".
This updated crop comes just a few months after she took the plunge and swapped her long curls for a pixie-like style. Back in April, the mum-to-be wowed fans when she revealed her shorter platinum-blonde locks after her big hair transformation. Now, it seems she's taken the cut one step further by giving it a more "modern 90s" Parisian feel.
Of the French hair trend, Nicole Petty at Milk + Blush explains: "Oozing French-girl cool, the French bob has become the hairstyle of the moment. Typically shorter than your standard chin-length bob, the real difference is in the cut's length and texture. It’s also always paired with a fringe.
"Most suited to oval, long and heart-shaped faces, this haircut is one that almost anyone can wear. And with 8,100 monthly searches and a 179% increase over the last year, it seems this trend could be here to stay for a while longer."
Pixie, you're bang on trend!
