A woman has spoken about being defrauded out of more than £50,000 by her partner of three years.
The anonymous woman spoke to Holly and Dermot today on This Morning.
She was the third victim of Sajad Hussain, 45, from Swindon, who scammed several women out of a total of £204,322 over seven years.
He manipulated the three victims into believing they were in exclusive relationships with him and met them all on dating apps. Hussain was sentenced to five years and four months in jail after pleading guilty to fraud.
Jane first met Hussain in 2015 via a dating app, which didn’t need verification, and within two months she had met Sajad who claimed his name was Sanjay.
The anonymous woman – who was referred to as Jane – spoke to Holly and Dermot today on This Morning
Jane is from a Sikh background and said that she made it clear she wanted a Sikh man to share her life with.
He told Jane that he was also Sikh, his parents were Sikh and frequently visited the Gurdwara to worship – but it turned out that he was actually of Muslim faith.
Jane also said that he tricked another woman into thinking he was a Hindu by changing his last name to Patel.
She said that he started asking her for money very soon into their relationship – around three to four weeks in – and made her feel ‘really vulnerable’ and ‘guilty’ for not helping him.
She said it started off with asking for rent money and he told her that his landlord was ‘after him’.
Hussain would often tell Jane that they were in danger because of the money he owed to people, along with her family.
She said: ‘To this day I still feel frightened even though he’s in jail. When I’m out, I’m always looking behind my shoulder, thinking people are after me because that’s what he made me believe.
‘He used to come to me and fake injuries all the time, telling me that he’s been beaten up.

‘He used to make me feel really vulnerable saying “you can help me but you’re choosing not to help me.”
‘I loved him so obviously I didn’t want him to be in pain and I love my family, I didn’t want them to be in trouble.’
Hussain repeatedly told Jane if she kept helping him then they would be together and he would pay her everything back.
While giving him more than £50,000 was painful, Jane got emotional when she handed over her family heirlooms.
Crying while talking to Holly and Dermot, she said: ‘It got the the point where I was screaming inside but my voice had been silenced.
‘The worst part for me was when I handed over my family heirlooms, that today still hurts. I feel guilty (about that) every single day.’
Jane said she always had ‘a gut feeling’ something was wrong but she couldn’t put her finger on what it was as he constantly manipulated her.
‘It got to a point where I didn’t have any money left, I didn’t have any jewellery to give him. I was broke.
‘He cut off ties with me. The judge described it as using us victims as “human piggy banks and just tossing us to one side” and he summed that up perfectly. ‘
Jane said that when he stopped talking to her and then came back to ask for more money, her family raised the alarm.
She then went to the police and found out there were other women who had been scammed.
