DEAR DEIDRE: SEX was always an enjoyable part of my life but I’ve not been intimate with my wife for four years now.
I am 58, she is 54.
She says it is OK we don’t have sex any more but I don’t agree.
I’ve tried Viagra but I don’t get on with it very well.
If we are not close physically, though, I worry we will be less close in other ways.
At the back of my mind there is always the niggling worry that she will leave me for another man.
DEIDRE SAYS: If you tried Viagra, then I assume it was erection problems that ended your sex life.
Talk to your GP about trying a different medication – Viagra is not the only one – or in a different strength. They do vary.
There is also lots of self-help you can try – and sex isn’t just about intercourse.
You can both share a lot of sexual pleasure and satisfaction in other ways.
