NANDO'S has quietly axed four dishes from its menu, including its popular sweet potato mash – and fans are "distraught".
Dishes that have been culled include one main course – Nando's fillet steak and chargrilled vegetables, which cost £11.70 and was available as a wrap or in a pitta.
Two sides have also been ditched – sweet potato mash, and sweet potato and butternut squash – both of which cost £3.45.
Feta cheese for £1.50 has also been scrubbed off the chicken chain's "Extras" menu.
The shake-up has been made to make room for Nando's new seasonal sides, which cost either £2.60 or £4.80 depending on the size.
Currently the range includes chargrilled veg, "saucy" spinach, and long-stem broccoli.
But customers aren't happy about their favourite dishes disappearing from the menu – particularly the sweet potato mash.
One upset fan tweeted: "@NandosUK what the hell are you playing at, getting rid of the sweet potato mash??!
"I was genuinely offended when I got to the till and was told it wasn’t on the menu, distraught, actually in bits. I can’t believe you’ve done this to me!
"Taking away the best thing after the actual chicken from the menu is hardly what I’d call exciting. The lady at the till said loads of people had said the same thing, you’re causing national heartbreak and you don’t even care."
Someone else wrote: "Went to @NandosUK yesterday. Placed my order and the guy at the till said "we've stopped doing sweet potato mash". One of the worst days of my life!!!!"
Another added: "@NandosUK Bring back the sweet potato mash mannnn!!"
Someone else commented: "@NandosUK why oh why would you get rid of sweet potato mash which has been on the menu for years. It is a staple product for so many of your customers. #bringbacksweetpotatomash"
Another tweeted: "@NandosUK where is the sweet potato mash? #missinginaction #myheartisbroken #bringbackthemash"
And someone else said: "@NandosUK why have you stopped selling sweet potato mash? This is an outrage."
Other fans weren't happy about the steak and veg wrap being removed. One fan tweeted: "The only reason I ever went to Nando’s was for the Steak Veg Wrap, now you have taken it off the menu.
"This has really disappointed me! Screw you Nando’s, screw you!! #nandosuk"
Another said: "@NandosUK has stopped doing the steak wrap and I am actually livid."
It comes as Nando's revealed last month that it's scrapped its mango and lime chicken rub for a limited time only and replaced it with mango and passion fruit – something fans are also furious about.
A Nando's spokesperson said: “We have removed Sweet Potato Mash from our menu, along with Sweet Potato and Butternut Squash, Feta Cheese, Fillet Steak & Chargrilled Veg and Mango & Lime Spice, in order to add newness for our customers.
"‘Passionfruit & Mango’ has replaced ‘Mango & Lime’, new seasonal sides will change with each new menu and we have also added ‘Vegan’ PERinaise.”
Nando's came under fire this week for refusing to seat a customer as the waiter didn’t believe his name was really Mr Chicken.
It has also been slammed for using chickens that grow so fast they develop lameness and skin sores.
But if you're a fan, the chicken chain is also trialling a new £6 lunch meal deal at 37 branches across the UK.
