Kick off your November in the most positive way possible with these self-care charts, which will help you get the most out of your month.
November is here: it’s a new month and an excuse to realign your focus to smash those hopes, dreams and ambitions well and truly out of the park.
But although we have the best intentions to do this every month, we could always do with a little help.
When it comes to self-care, there can often be a gulf between expectations and reality. Of course we want to set aside some time to nurture that side hustle, and we have the very best intentions to read for those thirty minutes a day. Heck, on the first of the month that weekly bath and ‘me-time’ was as good as set in stone. But, then life gets in the way, and it can be hard to remember all the things we said we would do. They slip away from us in favour of late nights and work deadlines.
Well, maybe what you (and us!) need is a little self-care tick list to help you not only set out your intentions and ambitions for the month ahead, but to go back to whenever you’re feeling like you’ve lost your way.
These motivational self-care rituals are a positive way to remind you to dream big for the next month (and beyond) and create an easy method of understanding exactly what you want to achieve in November.
Below we’ve picked out some of our favourites on Instagram for you to try yourself, and keep nailing November.
Amber Rae is a big deal on the self-care scene. As an illustrator and author of self-care book Choose Wonder Over Worry, she knows a thing or two about setting positive intentions for yourself and knowing how to achieve them. She shares a lot of her methods and expertise on her Instagram page, and we are BIG fans.
This November checklist has so many benefits because it balances reflecting on the last month and looking forward to the one ahead, as well as deciding what you want from the month you’re in. Fill in the spaces now and keep checking back in with your answers every Monday to monitor your progress and keep yourself on course.
There’s nothing like a bit of #mondaymotivation to get some fire in your belly, which is exactly what this simple but effective graphic does.
We like that the repetition of the word ‘new’ really hones in on the potential for the coming month, and although there aren’t direct questions, you can decide what each one of these statements would look like to you if they were successful.
What makes up a good month is different to everyone, but we think this checklist is pretty spot on. This is the perfect illustration for anyone who’s in a rut and struggling to think of wholesome activities to help them practice a bit of self-care.
Some of our favourites include ‘list the things you love about yourself’, ‘write someone a letter’ and ‘look at the stars’. Dreamy.
What’s one of the best things about November, aside from it being a new month? Its seasonal positioning, of course! November is right in the middle of all the best wintry activities, when the pumpkin spice lattes are in full flow and we’re over missing summer days, November delivers us bonfire night, Christmas preparations and the chance to drink mulled wine.
Not all of your aspirations for the month have to concentrate on kicking ass in your career or getting to know yourself better. Sometimes it can just be to enjoy the moment, which is why we love this checklist of seasonal activities that help us savour the season.
