Party season is here and we’re ready to get our glam on. Are you?

Whether you are looking for the perfect party accessory to bring a new lease of life into an existing purchase, or simply need some partywear inspiration, you’ve come to the right place.

The high street at this time of year can be a minefield as brands offer up their evening-wear best. From fancy frocks to chic tailoring, metallic separates and glitzy one-pieces (jumpsuits have proved a popular trend year after year), partywear is a lot more than simply picking up a lovely new frock- there are so many fabulous alternatives.

If your diary is filling up with cocktail dates and sophisticated soirees, you might be wondering what to wear, which is why we’ve hunted down the best buys so you don’t have to.

Looking good doesn’t have to cost the earth either as we prove with these gorgeous high street finds. From sequin dresses under £60, tailoring from £28 and accessories from £4, you’ll have some pennies spare for a few extra cocktails. Now that’s what we call getting in the Christmas spirit!

Silver Sirens

Metallics are back for another year but this time there’s one taking the lead in the trend rankings – silver. If you’re yet to be aquatinted with a pair of silver trousers, then what are you waiting for? Believe it or not they are super versatile. Dress them up up with a glitzy blazer (we love this one from Tu it’s looks so expensive!) or tone down with a crisp white shirt – the options are endless. If you’re more of a dress girl, there are loads of options on the high street too. From foiled body-con styles to sparkling sequins it’s time to shine!

Standout Sequins

Would it be party season without a sprinkling of sequins? I don’t think so! Amongst the classic shades of black, gold and silver, the high street has pulled out some real showstoppers to get you noticed on the dance floor. As we know, sequinned and embellished fabrics can come with a more expensive price tag but luckily for us, Zara has answered our prayers (again) with offerings under £100. This mint shade looks stunning both on blondes and brunettes.

The Classic LBD

For those classic partygoers looking to up their LBD game we’ve found some true icons! Whether you like a simple silhouette or something more fancy, there really is a style to suit all tastes. We’re all for details this party season so edging towards designs with more va va voom. Ruffles, velvet and glitter details really bring the classic LBD to life. Why not team with a pair of metallic boots or add more bling with fancy tights- these are only £4 at Primark.

In The Pink

Warm burgundy and blush pink tones can also look chic after dark (can you believe this Boohoo design is only £30?). If dresses aren’t for you, we’ve found the perfect jumpsuit. Take it from someone who has curves, the belted waist and loose wide leg trouser shape are figure-flattering and forgiving. Well, no one wants to spend the festivities feeling uncomfortable now, do they?

Chic Co-ords

Want more bang for your buck? Investing in a co-ord is one of the easiest ways to do so as you can make multiple outfits from two easy separates. This top and skirt combo from JD Williams ticks all the boxes. The pencil skirt shape is flattering on curves and the puff sleeve detail on top will balance out pear shapes. The sizes available are inclusive too, with sizes ranging from 8-32. If you have lots of dates in your diary and can’t afford new outfits each time, you could swap out the skirt and wear the top with your favourite smart jeans and a blazer- now that’s what we call economising in the name of fashion.
