It’s been a busy few weeks for style star Kim Petras.
Just last month, the previously independent singer signed with Republic Records and released “Future Starts Now,” the lead single from her upcoming debut album. She’s also set to take the stage during Sunday’s VMAs pre-show — and on Monday, she’ll attend her first-ever Met Gala.
In between it all, Petras performed her new electro-pop bop at Saks’ New York Fashion Week fête, serenading a crowd that included her “sis” Paris Hilton and frequent collaborator Charli XCX, along with Saks’ fall campaign stars, Sarah Paulson and Kumail Nanjiani.
“I dress for myself, and I feel fierce in what I wear — I don’t care what anyone says about it,” she told us at Thursday night’s bash. “And right now, it’s time to go a little crazy. We’ve not been able to do anything, so it’s time to have fun with fashion, makeup, everything!”
Below, Petras shares a few of her favorite finds, from the post-party “hangover sunglasses” she swears by to the shirt she’s deemed “the sexiest thing you can wear.”
Balenciaga High-Rise Distressed Jeans
“A great-fitting pair of jeans is essential. I like ’em a little baggier.”
Polo Ralph Lauren Classic Fit Cotton Oxford Shirt
“A men’s shirt, I think, is the sexiest thing you can wear — something that feels like you just came out of your boyfriend’s apartment.”
Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel
“An absolute must-have.”
Hyein Seo Bag Trousers
“A good cargo pant is important. And these come with a detachable fanny pack, which is super cute. It’s a two-in-one!”
Converse All Star High-Top Sneaker
“I absolutely love a heel, but for day to day, Converse are a quick way to look cute if you’re going out.”
Versace Medusa Biggie Sunglasses
“You need a great pair of hangover sunglasses. They have to cover the sides [of your eyes] — that’s the most important part.”
