A podcaster has been slammed online after he claimed all men in their twenties should own a Lamborghini because $200,000 is nothing more than ‘chump change’.

Sebastian Ghiorghiu, 24, from Detroit, alleges to have made $8m in just six years through various sources of income – including setting up a Google ad agency, flipping houses and making YouTube videos.

On top of this, the entrepreneur – who boasts 825,000 subscribers – also has made money through his dropshipping companies. Dropshippers act as the ‘middleman’ between a business and a customer by accepting orders without keeping any stock or handling the product.

This week, a clip from a recent podcast episode Sebastian filmed caused a stir on Twitter after he insisted that all young men should be able to afford a sports car.

Sebastian Ghiorghiu, 24, from Detroit, claimed in a recent podcast appearance that all men in their twenties should have a sports car in their twenties because $200k is ‘chump change’

In the viral clip, which has amassed over 2.4m views, Sebastian said: ‘If you’re a guy in your twenties and you don’t have a Lamborghini, you should actually sit down and have like a serious discussion with yourself as to why you don’t have a Lambo.

‘Because I realise now that it is so incredibly easy and there’s so much money out there.

‘$200,000, relative to what is out there in circulation and what you can grab, especially now with AI tools that you can leverage like never before, $200,000 is chump change.’

Sharing the clip online, disgruntled Twitter user Joshua Hill wrote: ‘I think we need to halt podcasts until we figure out what is going on.’

Twitter users were up in arms about Sebastian’s comments – with hundreds taking to the replies to mock the podcast episode

Needless to say, the footage also rubbed up other users the wrong way – prompting hundreds to mock the businessman in the replies.

‘Leverage AI! Of course,’ one said. ‘Why didn’t I think of that? It all seems so simple now.’

‘Urgh I want to throw up after listening to that,’ another added.

A third joked: ‘If anyone in the replies agrees with him, you need to DM me and send $100k since that’s chump change. Otherwise your reply is invalid.’

‘Love that their idea of success is just owning a Lamborghini,’ a fourth said. ‘Like that’s the base line of success, a meaningless status symbol. Not even a nice house.’

In response to the backlash yesterday, Sebastian tweeted: ‘This 18 year old kid I know starting drop shipping a couple months ago. Did 12K by noon today with 30% margins and had to shut off ads because he needs a credit card and [you’re] still winging because I said you should be able to afford a lambo in your 20’s. Grow up already.’

In another follow-up tweet, he added: ‘Back then people had to physically work to earn money nowadays you can push buttons in bed and make 10x more, maybe even 100x if you are smart about it.’

Last year, Sebastian – whose parents emigrated from Romania to the US in the late 1980s – uploaded a video on his YouTube channel where he delved into his career thus far.

The 24-year-old said he always dreamt of being wealthy and started working for $8.25-an-hour in Taco Bell and KFC while he was still in high school.

After then working at a car wash, Sebastian bought an Infiniti G35 car which inspired his first business venture.

He claimed: ‘I started flipping cars. I had nine cars by the time I was 19.’

After originally aspiring to become a neurosurgeon, Sebastian recalled how he dropped out of college to become a real estate agent after discovering fellow YouTuber Graham Stephan’s tips.

Sebastian explained: ‘He sells homes, saves the money, buys rental properties, rents them out and collects passive income. I was like, “yo, I want to do that! I don’t actually want to work, I want to have freedom to do whatever I want and be rich.”‘

At the age of 19, Sebastian claims he had a net worth of $70-80,000 thanks to his real estate work, YouTube channel and dropshipping ventures.

He added: ‘So naturally what a 19-year-old boy is going to do when you give him money is he’s going to buy a [Nissan] GTR. It was my dream car and it was like my first trophy, my first staple of success in my life.’
