A ‘snobby’ woman has been slammed online by trolls after she declared that her neighbours stop using their garden because their kids 'loudness' impose on her ‘blissfully quiet’ life.

It is common to hear children playing out in the sunshine during the summer months – but it is not liked by everyone, including this anonymous Mumsnet user.

The 40-something woman from the UK aired her concerns about her neighbours who had recently moved into the area she had been living in for over 20 years.

She wanted to know if she was being ‘unreasonable’ in her thoughts and so took to the parenting forum for some help, but soon received backlash.

In the post, she explained: “We live in a quiet, semi-rural steading conversion, so a smallish cluster of houses in converted farm buildings. We’ve lived here for 20 plus years, and it has always been blissfully quiet.

The woman, who has her own teenage children, continued: “Two years ago the last working farm building was sold off to someone who converted it, and now they live there – a young family in their late 20s with toddlers.

“The problem is, they are so very loud.

“Their conversion forms a courtyard, and they just treat the courtyard as another room of the house. They usually have double doors open, TV or music on, shouting from one side to the other.

“It carries right through the area. There is no getting away from it, even going for a walk in the previously quiet fields.”

She has claimed the family use their outdoor area like a “living room” and is worried that she has a whole summer's worth of noise.

“We have had some respite in the winter when it was cold, but they are back to normal today and I just know it will be like this until autumn," the woman added.

Although she recognised that she may be ‘snobby’ for her concerns, she couldn’t help comment on the antics of her neighbours.

She asked: “Do we just need to suck it up and accept that we have been lucky until now?”

Despite the fact the woman had explained her situation, many people fled to the comments to deem her as unreasonable.

One person commented: “What you’re describing sounds like a family using their property in a way they’re perfectly entitled to do. A garden is an extension of the living room for a lot of people.”

Another user added: “I bet you were noisy ten years ago. When you don't have small children, you forget how noisy they are.”

Whilst a third person voiced: “They aren't doing anything wrong. They are living on their property.”

However, some people took the side of the woman as they could relate to her situation.

This user declared: “They know they live in a quiet area and it doesn’t take a c***ing rocket scientist to realise that the locals might want to keep it that way. They are being incredibly selfish.

“I’d send them an anonymous letter telling them they’re annoying all of their neighbours.”

A second person noted: “You won’t get anywhere with ignorant idiots like them. Just hope they move soon.”

And, someone else shared: “I sympathise as our next door neighbours and their small children are the noisiest people in the row – inside their house and outside. However I remind myself that they are nice people and at least they don't have a dog barking 24/7.”
