The images of the royal getting stuck in were posted alongside a caption. It read: “We were delighted to welcome HRH The Countess of Wessex to our foodbank warehouse to join volunteers packing emergency food parcels.

“The Countess spent time assembling food parcels for delivery to the vulnerable in the Woking borough impacted by the coronavirus.

“She also heard from the staff and regular volunteers at The Lighthouse about the work the foodbank is doing to help those in need, as well as our other projects which are supporting the local community.”

The Countess dedicates much of her time to charity work outside of the pandemic too, and has become a popular member of the family due to her relentless work to support the Queen.

Fans took to the comments section of the Instagram page, however, some raised concerns over what Sophie was wearing, or what she wasn’t.

One asked: “Where’s Sophie’s mask though?”

Another said: “Where are their masks? Be safe! Stay healthy! Now go put on a mask! Please!”

“They don’t wear mask,” another said, with a sad face accompanying the message.

However, others pointed out Sophie wasn’t breaking any rules by not wearing a mask while volunteering.

In the past others have complained Sophie Countess of Wessex is “under appreciated” and “her work and selflessness overlooked”.

It came after it was revealed she had been volunteering once a week, “privately, without any fanfare,” according to the Daily Mail.

British financier Ian Wace arranged the volunteering.

The team there have been making 59,000 meals a week for hospital staff in London.

“Sophie’s done a fabulous job,” one fellow volunteer said.

“She’s got stuck into everything, cooking, prep work and cleaning. She’s done it privately, without any fanfare, and the staff think she’s incredible.

“The team here are giving everything and it’s been a real boost to morale.”

Sophie has also been helping at Rhubard, which is a catering company that is also providing melas to NHS staff.
