A teacher was left disappointed when she opened her Christmas gift after attending her work party.

The elementary art teacher, who is known as @lil.yambs on TikTok, questioned if she has been a "brat" because of the awful gift she received.

In a clip that's gone viral, she said: "I'm confused. Is this a joke?

"I got my Christmas present from the school…It's literally a Covid rapid test."

She unwrapped the present and showed the testing kit.

Refusing to believe it to be true, she paused and added: "That's my Christmas bonus."

Her video prompted other teachers to share what they got at their work Christmas-dos.

One said: "Last year we got served hot cocoa that was left over from an event for the kids."

"Well, I'm feeling pretty good about my free car wash coupon now!" a second wrote.

A woman said her husband got a pin for working during the pandemic.

Others were fuming on behalf of her as a person mentioned: "You can go online to the USPS website and request four of those tests for FREE!"

"Teaching 27 years and I’ve never gotten a gift from the school but now I’m kind of grateful about that," another admitted.

A third added: "Just plain insulting – I'd rather have nothing!"

It comes after a woman took to TikTok to share one Christmas gift that people should avoid giving.

Known by TikTokers as the "shoe theory", it involves gifting loved ones footwear which some claim can lead to them walking out on you.

Megan Grace shared her experience in a post and called it no joke.

She said: "I bought my [boyfriend] the Lightning McQueen Crocs for Christmas this year, and he broke up with me three weeks after I bought them and a month before Christmas.

    "It’s a curse."

Some even said the theory didn't just apply to romantic partners, as one person told a tale about her "guy best friend".

They wrote: "He wouldn’t give me my Nintendo Switch back ‘til the police had to get involved and then blocked me on everything."
