Tesco Clubcard and Sainsbury’s Nectar Card set for huge changes

Tesco and Sainsbury’s customers will both see a shake-up in their loyalty schemes – the Clubcard and the Nectar Card – which could see them boost their points massively.

Tesco has unveiled a new Clubcard subscription service to run alongside its regular card, while Nectar Card has added a new way to boost points.

The radical changes aims to save you money by using Tesco’s Clubcard and Sainsbury’s Nectar card.

Customers can collect points and use them to spend on various products.

  • Sainsbury's launch 50% off Tu clothes in mega clearance sale starting at £1.50

Tesco Clubcard Plus:

Tesco’s new Clubcard subscription service, called Tesco Clubcard Plus , gives shoppers the change to redeem extra awards in their stores.

The Clubcard Plus subscription costs £7.99 a month, and unlocks benefits such as 10% off two big shops in-store, and also 10% off selected Tesco brands.

These brands include F&F, Fred & Flo, Go Cook, Tesco Pet, Carousel and Fox & Ivy.

  • Sainsbury’s to sell UK first Christmas Cracker filled with cheese, crackers, chutney

Even though the service will cost you £7.99 a month, the deal could pay for yourself if you spend £100 a month at Tesco, which will get you £10 off.

The card has to be accessed on the smartphone app, but it won’t be live until later in the year.

The regular Tesco Clubcard will allow you to collect a point for every £1 you spend in Tesco, and one point for every £8 you spend elsewhere.

You can turn the points into vouchers – 150 points are worth £1.50.

Sainsbury’s Nectar card:

Sainsbury’s has launched a new scheme which will give customers personalised offers to boost their Nectar points.

This is on top of earning a point for every £1 they spend.

But with the new scheme customers will boost their points quicker and easier, and use them at almost 400 retailers.

Every Friday customers will be sent a range of point-boosting offers, based on their spending habits.

Shoppers can view view the points in the Nectar Card app, and online on the Nectar Card website .

You simply select the offer you want to use, then scan your Nectar Card at the till.

If you’re an existing customer, simply update the app to reveal the new benefits.
