Going on a show like The Bachelor or The Bachelorette is always enticing, no matter if you are looking for love or not. You get to be on t.v., which is great if you have a business or venture that you want to promote. Because the show is so enticing to contestants, the leads spend a lot of their time trying to find out who is actually there to find love and who is there just for the perks of the franchise.
People who are on the show for the fame and exposure usually have something going on with an old or current flame back home.
This season, on night one, Bachelorette Hannah Brown had to send someone home for having a girlfriend. And now, reports have come out that one of her frontrunners, Jed Wyatt, also had a girlfriend up until right before he came on the show.
Why do guys come on the show with girlfriends?
It seems like every season, we hear about one of the contestants having a girlfriend.
Former Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe sat down with Entertainment Tonight to give her take on the phenomenon.
“When I heard that, I was like, ‘Yeah, I was waiting for that.’ I was waiting for someone to have a girlfriend,” she said of the reports of Wyatt’s relationship. “It happens every season.”
“I wonder if he can talk about it or say something,” she continued. “You can’t judge anyone for it, because sometimes you really have no idea you’re going to fall in love on that show… He admitted he had different intentions going into the show.”

Wyatt did tell Brown that he had originally come on the show to promote his music.
“I thought it was great to be proactive about what you’re doing,” Bristowe’s boyfriend Jason Tartick told the outlet of Wyatt coming clean.
“I think if you now correlate him openly putting it out there that his only intention was to promote his music business and then you couple that with some of the comments that his girlfriend is now saying about the night before, [it gets complicated],” he said. “Then you tie in the twist of the gentleman that was there night one who had a girlfriend, and you saw Hannah’s reaction [to that].”

What is Wyatt’s girlfriend saying?
Wyatt’s ex-girlfriend, Haley Stevens, recently told People that she and Wyatt had been dating right up until he went into the Bachelorette mansion. She says that when Wyatt received the news that he’d be on the show, they went on vacation to the Bahamas together. While there, she says that he told her he loved her. She also alleges that they spent the night together before he flew out to L.A. and that he told her that he hoped to make it to the top five to help his music career.
She also claims that Wyatt told her he’d call her once the show was done filming but he never did.
