Meghan McCain from The View is experiencing motherhood and “blissed out” about taking care of her newborn. The conservative TV personality is on maternity leave at the moment but she is still keeping tabs on her fellow co-hosts. McCain wished Behar a happy birthday and the comedian requested to see her bundle of joy. See what she said in the tweet below!
Multi-tasking while having a newborn at home, McCain didn’t let the day go bye without sending her thoughts to Behar on her birthday.
“Happy Birthday to my favorite liberal sparring partner Joy Behar,” McCain tweeted. “There’s no one I love fighting with more. I miss really loitering around in your dressing room watching cable news and gossiping after the show. You are a true powerhouse and ultimate original.”
Behar saw the message and quipped, “Let’s see the baby.”
McCain has not shared a photo of little Liberty Sage but said she promised to share it when she went back to New York.
Why is Meghan McCain not sharing a picture?
Early on in her pregnancy, fans of the Republican pundit inundated her with requests to talk about her pregnancy. Throughout the gestation, McCain kept a low profile about her road to motherhood. Her decision to keep details about her baby on the down-low was taken in partnership with her husband Ben Domenech.
“Ben and I have made the conscious decision to guard our (growing) families’ privacy as much as is possible,” McCain posted on Instagram. “I believe children have a right to privacy and hope you will all understand as we navigate this as much as possible going forward without sacrificing our comfort or safety.”
Daytime talkshow hosts are usually open about their lives and share intimate moments about their family. McCain has been in the spotlight since a young age as the daughter of the respected Senator John McCain. She knows what it’s like to not have privacy and hopes to protect her daughter from receiving any kind of criticism.
“I know this is an unorthodox choice for a talk show host who is on TV five days a week – but I’ve always lived by the beat of my own drum,” she continued. “Thank you for the continued kind words, support and prayers regarding my pregnancy from so many of you who are nothing but kind. It has meant a lot during this crazy time.”
Meghan McCain shares motherhood struggle
Following the birth of her baby, McCain feels like she has been blessed immensely. The outpour of support for the political analyst was from both sides of the political aisle. McCain was able to read all the well-wishes she received and appreciated every single one of them.
“Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all the wonderful well wishes and overwhelming kindness,” McCain tweeted. “Ben and I are completely and utterly in love with our daughter and feeling indescribably blessed/blissed out. We will be watching her first debate as a family together tonight.”
It has not all been fun though as she jokingly shared a tidbit about motherhood recently.
“I know there is a LOT going on in the world that is much more important but I’m in the throes of newborn land… but I just wanted to know if your nipples can actually fall off from breastfeeding?” she asked her Twitter followers.
The View airs weekday mornings at 11 a.m. ET and 10 a.m. CT/PT on ABC.
