James Kennedy is one year sober.
The “Vanderpump Rules” star announced the milestone via Instagram on Sunday, and wrote, “Letting go of drinking was the best decision I ever made and I’m going strong. I don’t miss the booze …… I don’t miss the feeling …. I’m so grateful for everything now and life has become more beautiful in many ways.”
Kennedy, 28, also thanked his girlfriend, Raquel Leviss, for her support. She was seen on “Vanderpump Rules” accompanying the DJ to his first Alcoholics Anonymous meeting.
“Thank you to my rock @raquelleviss for getting me here I couldn’t of done this without you my love,” he said. “And thank you all for the support this past year.”
The reality star also shared in an Instagram Story that Leviss, 25, treated him to a homemade breakfast of pancakes and bacon to celebrate.
Levissd also captioned a picture of the pair in face masks on her Instagram, saying, “Today James is 1 year sober! Lots to celebrate but most important is the love you show me every single day @itsjameskennedy.”
Several “Vanderpump Rules” cast members sent Kennedy their congratulations.
“Woohooooooo!!!! So proud!!!” Scheana Shay wrote.
Even Jax Taylor, with whom Kennedy has had a long history of feuding on the Bravo show, commented, “Congrats brother, well deserved.”
