Our Guy in Russia

You see, he's called Guy, and he's in Russia. Clever, no? Guy Martin is a "lorry mechanic and television daredevil", and therefore the perfect man to unravel the many mysteries and contradictions of the vast land of Russia. Travelling from Moscow to Siberia, Guy's thing is ignoring the tourist attractions and getting to grips with the "real" Russia. Which is a bit of a bummer, because the reason tourist attractions are tourist attractions is that they're really cool. Still there's cool stuff to be found on the daredevil's trail too, as he meets Vladimir Putin's bikie gang and chats with young people who spend their time illegally climbing skyscrapers. The question is whether Britain will ever run out of TV shows about affable white Britons gazing in wonder upon foreign lands. Guy Martin, not being a former comedy star, is a slight variation on a theme, but it still seems like we're only a few years off these documentary series becoming the country's major export.
