THE busiest time of the year to bag a supermarket delivery slot is at Christmas.
To avoid disappointment, supermarkets are letting you book delivery slots as early as the start of November.
When these delivery slots do become available, they can go fast.
Last year, Tesco shoppers were furious after some of the supermarket’s Christmas delivery slots sold out within minutes.
Customer with a monthly “delivery saver” subscription were able to book prime slots for the days before December 25 a week in advance of other shoppers.
Shoppers stayed up until midnight on Monday and Tuesday 2018 to book Christmas delivery slots for December 23 and 24, which is when they became available to all customers for the first time.
There were many complaints that slots in their areas were already sold out as soon as they went live at one minute past midnight.
So, whack the date in your diary and nab that time and date you want.
The Sun has found out when Tesco, Asda, Morrisons, Sainsbury, Waitrose and Ocado delivery slots will open.
Tesco Christmas delivery slots
Tesco opens up delivery slots for customers three weeks ahead of each day. So, for December 20, it’s November 30.
Tesco will charge you a delivery cost ranging from £2 to £7 per slot.
Priority access for anyone with a delivery saver pass starts on November 27.
A delivery saver pass is a great way to save on your Tesco grocery delivery charges.
Just by using your Clubcard vouchers, you can have all your Tesco groceries delivered to your door.
Once you’ve signed up, any order you place (costing over £40) will be delivered to you with no delivery charge.
There is also an opportunity for you to take out a free trial if you want to bag a spot without paying.
Asda Christmas delivery slots
Shoppers will be able to book Asda delivery slots on November 18.
For those who are delivery pass customers, you will be able to nab your spot from November 13.
For delivery orders under £40, there is a minimum basket charge of £3.
It is the same basket charge for click and collect orders under £25.
Morrisons Christmas delivery slots
Morrisons opens up delivery slots for customers on November 27 for deliveries between December 20 to 24.
If you have a delivery pass, then you can book from November 6.
For delivery orders, you can expect to pay a minimum delivery charge of £1.50 and maximum delivery charge of £5.
Sainsbury’s Christmas delivery slots
You’ll be able to book your Sainsbury delivery slots for December 20 from November 30 and it’ll move on day by day.
So December 1 delivery slot will be available on December 21 and so on.
You won’t be able to get a delivery between December 24 and 26, or on January 1, 2020.
For delivery orders, you can expect to pay a minimum delivery charge of £1 and maximum delivery charge of £6.50.
Waitrose Christmas delivery slots
Waitrose delivery over Christmas and the New Year is already bookable, and most slots on December 22 and 23 are already booked at your local branch.
You have to spend a minimum of £60 at Waitrose to book a slot and there’s free delivery.
Ocado Christmas delivery slots
You’ll be able to book Ocado delivery slots for December 20 to 22, though there is a minimum order of £90 between December 20 and 24.
All available slots are charging £9.99.
If you have a smart pass, you’ll still have to pay for delivery during Christmas week.
