It’s been 32 years since the tragic death of the Queen frontman, Freddie Mercury, and now artificial intelligence has revealed what he would look like today.
The musician died in his Kensington home when he was just 45 years old of an AIDS-related illness on November 24, 1991. He was diagnosed with HIV back in 1987 and made sure to live out his final days with as much enthusiasm as he could muster.
His death came as a surprise to many of his loyal fans all over the world due to the fact that the Bohemian Rapsody singer kept his diagnosis a secret. The legendary songwriter only told his closest friends and family of his condition even though the disease was destroying his body.

After he informed his fellow bandmates of his illness, he insisted that he wanted to keep making music for as long as he could. Freddie told them: “I don’t want to take any action apart from carrying on the way we are.
“I want to carry on making music for as long as I f***ing can.” In February 1990, Freddie joined Queen while collecting a Brit Award for 'Outstanding Contribution to British Music', and while guitarist Brian May spoke on behalf of the band, Freddie briefly closed the speech saying, "Thank you….goodnight".
It was his final public appearance, and during the last year of his life, he also delivered an emotional message to fans in his final music video, These are the Days of our Lives. Taken from Queen’s 1991 Innuendo album, the song included the lyrics “You can’t turn back the clock, you can’t turn back time, ain’t that a shame?”
The reflective song featured Freddie alongside his Queen bandmates in the poignant video. Then in its final moments he looks straight to the camera and said, “I still love you” I an emotional final message to his fans.
In exclusive new pictures generated by AI system Midjourney, Freddie is still seen sporting his signature handlebar moustache. In the incredible images, the chart-topper can be seen sporting a full head of silver locks on what would have been his 77th birthday.
But it appears even in what would have been his twilight years of life, Freddie still looks just as fabulous as he did in his youth. He can be seen sporting his famous leather jacket in various shades of pink and gold and purple.
The gorgeous garments have been styled with various gold belts and pink feather boas sequins which he was quite partial to during the height of his career. He is often seen pairing his show-stopping jackets with a pair of black leather pants which completed the rock and roll look.
Freddie was never one to shy away from a bit of bling, and the same can be seen in these images. The We Will Rock You star opted to add a bit of extra sparkle to his look with several gold chain necklaces and rings.
Mercury’s bandmate and close friend Brian May revealed in 2017 to The Sunday Times how the disease was affecting him. He explained: “The problem was actually his foot, and tragically there was very little left of it.
“Once, he showed it to us at dinner, and he said, ‘Oh Brian, I’m sorry I've upset you by showing you that’. And I said, ‘I’m not upset, Freddie, except to realise you have to put up with all this terrible pain’.”
In the final week of his life, the singer decided to stop taking his AIDs medication after a trip to Switzerland in 1991 and spent his final days recording Queen’s final album, Made In Heaven. His close friends and long-time PA Peter Freestone explained on the Ask Phoebe podcast: “I believe he was at peace with himself.

“Freddie decided to stop his medication on his own terms. He knew the consequences of his actions and had the time then to talk with friends and family and say his goodbyes.” The star kept the world in the dark about his illness until just 24 hours before his tragic death.
In a statement, the rocker explained: “Following enormous conjecture in the press, I wish to confirm that I have been tested positive for HIV and AIDS. I felt it correct to keep this information private to protect the privacy of those around me.
“However, the time has now come for my friends and fans around the world to know the truth, and I hope everyone will join with me, my doctors and all those worldwide in the fight against this terrible disease.”
