Jesy Nelson has quit Little Mix after almost a decade in the internationally popular girlband. Last month, Jesy didn’t attend the grand final of Little Mix’s talent contest The Search on BBC One, with her spokesperson saying the star was going to take an “extended break”. However, now it has been revealed it won’t be just a break as Jesy has said she will be leaving her days with Little Mix behind.
Jesy Nelson, 29, from Romford, makes up one fourth of girlband Little Mix who shot to fame after winning ITV’s The X Factor in 2011.
She won the competition alongside fellow bandmates Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock who has gone on to continually top the charts, win a plethora awards as well as go on sell-out tours across the globe.
The four talented women felt they could use their experience in the business to help others and so launched TV show The Search where they put together six bands.
The winners vocal and instrument group Since September will be going on tour with Little Mix which is expected to begin next year.
But while Since September were celebrating their success, fans were wondering where Jesy was as she mysteriously didn’t show up for the talent show’s grand finale.

Why has Jesy Nelson quit Little Mix?
Following The Search, Little Mix’s spokesperson said Jesy was going to have an “extended break” from the group.
This meant Jesy missed out on presenting the MTV Europe Music Awards with the rest of the group and appearing on both The Jonathan Ross Show, Children in Need and Strictly Come Dancing.
Today, Monday, December 14, it was announced Jesy would be leaving the group permanently.
On Little Mix’s official Twitter account, the girls said: “After an amazing 9 years together Jesy has made the decision to leave Little Mix.
“This is an incredibly sad time for all of us but we are fully supportive of Jesy.”
The message from Little Mix continued: “We love her very much and agree that it is so important that she does what is right for her mental health and wellbeing.
“We are still very much enjoying our Little Mix journey and the 3 of us are not ready for it to be over.
“We know that Jesy leaving the group is going to be really upsetting news for our fans.
“We love you guys so much and are so grateful for your loyalty and continued support of all of us.
“We’re looking forward to seeing so many of you on tour. Love always, Jade, Perrie and Leigh-Anne xxx”.
