The Roc Nation artist, who has preferred they/them pronouns, released ‘Just Wanna Rock’ on October 17 and the song is expected to appear on their upcoming mixtape, ‘The Pink Tape’.
AceShowbiz –Lil Uzi Vert went all and above in the “Just Wanna Rock” music video. The Gibson Hazard-directed visuals, which arrived on Friday, November 18, sees the Roc Nation artist partying hard with a massive crowd in NYC’s SoHo.
The video first opens with Uzi traveling from space inside an intergalactic car. Upon his arrival, the 27-year-old Philadelphia native shuts down a bustling dance floor with a group of people.
The rap star, who has preferred the/them pronouns, later heads to the street where their hype-filled fans gather to see them. After escaping through the sunroof, JT‘s longtime partner flaunts his dance moves from the car hood.
“How the f**k you gon’ kill my vibe?/ Stand on my money, don’t know my size,” Uzi, born Symere Bysil Woods, spits in their verse. “Pick them sides, and you better choose wisely/ That’s my high, one, two, three, four, throw up the five.”
Uzi dropped “Just Wanna Rock” on October 17. The song is expected to appear on their upcoming mixtape, “The Pink Tape”. When speaking about the project last August, they told HipHopDX, “I’m feeling really good about it.”
“Usually, I’ll pump myself up even if I don’t feel really good, and I’ll be like ‘oh this is it,’ ” Uzi further explained. “[I do that] just to like give myself that extra push but this time I really kind of think this is it.”
Ahead of the mixtape’s release, Uzi announced that they will embark on a headlining tour in 2023. It was unveiled that the rapper will kick off the 20-city North American tour in March next year in collaboration with Live Nation. The dates and the locations have yet to be revealed.
