Good Morning Britain presenter Piers Morgan has hit back at Suits star Patrick J Adams after he took to social media to defend his pal Meghan Markle.
Patrick, who played Meghan's on-screen husband on the US legal drama, wrote a furious takedown of the royal family ahead of her and Prince Harry's interview with Oprah.
Referencing Patrick's use of the obscene for the royal family Piers ranted: "Actually, what’s 'OBSCENE' is your friend trashing her husband’s family on global TV as the Queen’s 99-yr-old husband lies in hospital. How dare you attack our Royal Family like this, you jumped-up little twerp.
"Meghan Markle’s showbiz mates who flew over and grovelled up to the Royals at her wedding now publicly trashing the Monarchy – and suggesting it be abolished. Disgusting."
Piers has made it no secret that he is not impressed with Meghan and Harry, having recently branded the pair "hypocrites", as well as "narcissists", "professional victims" and "tone-deaf".
Patrick's original lengthy statement said: "Meghan Markle and I spent the better part of a decade working together on Suits.
"From day one she was an enthusiastic, kind, cooperative, giving, joyful and supportive member of our television family. She remained that person and colleague as fame, prestige and power accrued."
He added: "She fell in love, moved to a new country, became a household name across the entire globe and began the difficult work of trying to find her place in a family dynamic that can at best be described as complicated and at worst, seemingly archaic and toxic.

"It’s OBSCENE that the Royal Family, who’s newest member is currently GROWING INSIDE OF HER, is promoting and amplifying accusations of 'bullying' against a woman who herself was basically forced to flee the UK in order protect her family and her own mental health,"
Patrick, who worked with Meghan for eight seasons of Suits, continued: "IMO, this newest chapter and it’s timing is just another stunning example of the shamelessness of a institution that has outlived its relevance, is way overdrawn on credibility and apparently bankrupt of decency."
He finished the rant off with a final swipe, writing: "Find someone else to admonish, berate and torment. My friend Meghan is way out of your league."
Meghan and Harry's tell-all chat with Oprah is set to air in the US on Sunday, and several explosive teasers have been dropped.
One has showed the Duchess calling the royal family "the firm", and claiming they were "perpetuating falsehoods about us".
The interview will air in the UK on Monday at 9pm on ITV.
