Piers Morgan gives update on Covid battle as he shares unusual symptoms

Piers Morgan has been entirely transparent with his followers about his experience with coronavirus, with the former GMB host calling the latest update a "new treat".

He has shared his new symptoms on Twitter last night and alongside his common symptoms, he said that he now has a posterior vitreous detachment in his eye.

The condition, which is caused when your vitreous comes away from the retina at the back of your eye, is said to last anywhere between a few weeks to six months.

Piers stated that the condition has been caused by his continuous coughing, writing on Twitter: "28-day Covid update: a new treat – aside from ongoing tedious fatigue and inability to taste wine, the coughing's caused a 'posterior vitreous detachment' in my left eye.

"So, now I'm seeing weird ghostly cobwebs swimming around. It really is the virus that keeps on giving."

It comes after Piers caught the virus while watching the Euros final at Wembley last month and was left with chest pain, a fever and cold sweats.

He got himself a test two days after the event and tested positive on both the lateral flow test and the PCR test after he became unwell.

At the time of his diagnosis, he said it was the "roughest" he ever felt from any illness as an adult, but praised the creators of the AstraZeneca vaccine as he continued: "I'm still here – unlike so many millions around the world who've lost their lives to Covid in this pandemic."

In one of his recent Daily Mail columns, Piers explained that he lost a whopping 2kg since contracting the virus as he's unable to taste anything and feels fatigue.

Piers has been sharing the true realities he's felt after contracting Covid-19 and still dealing with the virus weeks later.

He revealed he was double-jabbed at the time, admitting that the experience has given him a "new perspective on Covid-19 and vaccines" after realising the dangers had he not had both doses.

Piers received his first Covid-19 jab at the beginning of March and praised the "efficient" NHS staff for the process, he was able to get his next one in the middle of May, two months before he caught the virus.
