Strictly Come Dancing star Amanda Abbington made waves when she announced she was withdrawing from the BBC dancing show.
Her decision to pull out of the show was made public on Monday night (October 23), when the 49-year-old actress became "fed up" of the show. The Sherlock star also had fallen ill of sorts, which according to BBC bosses said was part of the reason why she walked from the show.
A statement released by producers at the show confirmed that Amanda would not be taking part in the show anymore. The statement read: "Amanda Abbington is unable to continue in Strictly Come Dancing and has decided to withdraw from the competition."

The statement ended with the BBC giving their thanks to the star, adding: "The show wishes her all the best for the future." Amanda, together with partner Giovanni Pernice, had already missed last week's edition of the show due to "medical reasons".
Now, Amanda's partner Jonathan Goodwin has shared a cryptic post that might have alluded to his fiancée's situation. Goodwin, who appeared on Britain's Got Talent in 2021 as an escapologist took to Instagram to share the post, which urged people not to be so quick to judge.
In a pic uploaded to his Instagram stories, Amanda's beau looked deep into a mirror as he took the snap. In the pic, he sported a black pullover and a pair of bright blue jeans.
As he gazed into the mirror, he wrote: "We can be so hard on ourselves, be our own worst critics. But before, you judge yourself… make sure your mirror is clean."
Amanda and Giovanni were given a bye from performing on Saturday (October 21), after presenter Claudia Winkleman said: "Due to medical reasons, Amanda is unable to perform this week.
"Strictly Come Dancing protocols mean that all being well, Amanda and Giovanni will return the following week," Claudia continued. "Amanda we hope you get well soon my love, sending you all the best wishes!"
In the run-up to her pulling out of the show, rumours were afoot that Amanda had had an explosive falling out with her hunky Italian partner Giovanni, 33. But the pair were quick to dispel any allegations of a rift, clearing the air on Strictly's side show It Takes Two.
Speaking at the time, Amanda insisted: "We laugh a lot, we have the same sense of humour which is really important. So we'll come out, work hard, and then we just laugh don't we!"
Actress Amanda has been engaged to magician and escapologist Jonathan since their first date, after speaking on the phone whilst he was based in Las Vegas and Amanda was in the UK. The pair have been loved up since they first started dating in 2021.
