Ackley Bridge Missy star completely unrecognisable three years after show exit

Ackley Bridge's Missy actress Poppy Lee Friar looks completely unrecognisable three years after her tragic show exit.

The 27-year-old Southwark-born star portrayed the role of Missy Booth in the Channel 4 drama series Ackley Bridge from 2017 until 2019.

Rising to fame as the sassy yet sweet schoolgirl, her character was brutally killed off in 2019, leaving viewers utterly heartbroken.

She is currently playing Mayella Ewell in To Kill a Mockingbird at The Gielgud Theatre, London, and now looks worlds away from her TV role as the troubled teen.

At the weekend Poppy looked ultra glamorous when she supported two TV shows that she stars in at the BAFTA Cymru awards.

Taking to Instagram on Wednesday night (October 19), Poppy said that she had "a blast" when she uploaded a few glam snaps.

Showing off her glamorous red carpet look, the Missy actress looked worlds away from how Channel 4 viewers remember her.

When portraying Missy Booth, Poppy wore her blonde locks atop her head in a messy bun and completed the look with a dark smudged smoky eye and her statement pink fur-lined jacket.

But now three years on, she looks all grown up and incredibly chic.

Mature and glamorous, Poppy now sports a mid-length hair cut which she tends to always wear down and framing her face.

And when she wears makeup she tends to go for a fresh yet flawless face base with understated eyes and a red lip.

While attending the BAFTAs, Poppy paired her mature vibe with a black puff-sleeved dress and some matching heels.

Taking to the comments section to gush over the blonde beauty, one fan penned: "Missy Booth," with a red heart.

Another added: "Just beautiful," while a third said: "Gorgeous."

As well as being known for her portrayal of Missy in Ackley Bridge, Poppy has had a long list of other film and TV credits.

In the past she has popped up in Doctors, Mr Selfridge and The Syndicate.

Not only all of the above and much more, but she also played the role of Jane Torvill in the ITV television film Torvill & Dean.
