In the new outing of the long-running NBC show, judge Simon Cowell’s voice is still gone so he doesn’t make commentary too much while Sharpe Family Singers kicks off the night.
AceShowbiz -“America’s Got Talent” season 18 continues its auditions in the Tuesday, June 27 episode. In the new outing, judge Simon Cowell‘s voice was still gone so he didn’t make commentary too much with Sharpe Family Singers kicking off the night.
They performed “How Far I’ll Go”, impressing Sofia Vergara with their amazing sound. Howie Mandel and Heidi Klum were also awed as they gave the group four yes to send them to the next round.
Following it up was Adrian Stoica and Hurricane, a dog trick act who came all the way from Italy. Heidi noted they were both “very good actors” in a “well done routine.” Howie, meanwhile, called them one of his favorite dog acts in series history. The act also moved to the next round.
Chen Lei performed next, offering performance of multiple acrobatic trips scaling higher and higher on balancing poles. Howie dubbed his performance “fluid,” while Sofia called it “perfection” and “insane.” As for Simon, he told Chen that he’s “on another level” and “one of his favorites.” Chen got four yes from the judges.
Trailer Flowers was the next performer, though Simon raised his hand to stop their first performance. The country duo then performed an original after Simon asked them to play a second song instead. Sofia thought their second performance was “better,” while Heidi praised them for their harmonization.
Later, self-taught dancer Erica Coffelt entertained everyone with their “fantastic” and “surprisingly very good” performance. Howie said that “joy is contagious,” with Heidi saying that she wanted to see more. The judges also gave Erica four yes.
Young magician Ryland was up next. In the performance, the 10-year-old used letters and numbers to show a predictive form of magic. Heidi loved the “magical” performance, and Howie gushed over Ryland for being “funny and talented.” Ryland was sent to the next round.
Barry Brewer Jr still managed to impress the judges despite his achilles injury. He used the music of the keys to underscore his storytelling brand of comedy. Sofia was said to be pleased to see a comic “mix it up with music,” while Howie said that he’s “likable and charming.” Simon, meanwhile, found it “really clever” with the potential to make a “positive difference.”
Another act who impressed the judges was Justin Jackson, who “made tap dancing sexy and funny and modern.” Justin earned four yes for his performance. Unfortunately, card magician Ryan Hayashi didn’t move to the next round, while Sangsoon Kim, who brought a new brand of magic to the stage using shoes and boxes as his props, was sent to the next round.
Rounding out the night was Lachune, a singer from South Carolina by way of Texas who is both a student and vocal teacher currently. Simon said that she has a “beautiful, beautiful voice” and was tempted to ask her to judge herself. Meanwhile, Sofia said it was “perfect.” Unsurprisingly, Lachune made it to the next round.
