BBC Strictlys Nigel Harman dealt crushing blow hours before live show

Strictly: Nigel Harman teases ‘tearjerking’ dance routine

Strictly Come Dancing star Nigel Harman has been dealt a crushing blow just hours before Musicals Week.

The actor, who is partnered up with Katya Jones could end up leaving the BBC series on Sunday.

The bookmakers have given Nigel odds of 5/4 of leaving, although, Bobby Brazier is close behind him with odds of 6/4.

Betway spokesman Chad Yeomans said: “Nigel and Katya have still never been in the bottom two, but this week the ex-EastEnders star is the favourite to go out with odds of 5/4.

“After a promising start, Nigel has struggled to justify his early favouritism with a mixed bag of performances in recent weeks.

“With momentum strongly behind Ellie and Annabel, and Layton likely to be a tough opponent in a dance-off, this could come down to Bobby v Nigel.

“With Bobby (6/4) dancing to ‘I’ve Had The Time of My Life’ from smash-hit musical Dirty Dancing, we expect him to have viewers partying in their living rooms and pip Nigel to the post in the crucial viewers’ vote.”

On the other end of the scale, Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola are the frontrunners to lift the Glitterball Trophy with odds of 66/1.

Annabel Croft and Johannes Radebe are also likely to be safe from elimination this weekend with odds of 6/1.

On Saturday night, the remaining celebrities and their dance partners will take to the ballroom floor for Musicals Weeks.

Nigel and Katya will perform the Charleston to ‘Step in Time’ from Mary Poppins and Annabel and Johannes will Foxtrot to ‘For Good’ from Wicked.

Bobby and Dianne Buswell will perform a Salsa to ‘I’ve Had the Time of My Life’ from Dirty Dancing while Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola will dance the Quickstep to ‘Belle’ from Beauty and the Beast.

Finally, Layton Williams and his partner Nikita Kuzmin will dance a Paso Doble to ‘Backstage Romance’ from Moulin Rouge.

Last Sunday, Layton landed in the bottom two against Angela Scanlon and Carlos Gu.

After a tense dance-off, Angela Scanlon was sent home after three out of the four judges voted to save Layton.

However, Shirley Ballas admitted she would have gone against her fellow judges and saved Angela and Carlos Gu.

Strictly Come Dancing airs tonight at 7.25pm on BBC One.
