Comedian and actor Bob Saget, who notably starred as the patriarch on ABC’s Full House, has died at 65.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call Sunday regarding “an unresponsive man” in a room at the Ritz-Carlton Orlando and identified the man as Bob Saget.
Onsite detectives noted there were no signs of foul play or drug use was present. Saget’s cause of death has not been released.
“We are devastated to confirm that our beloved Bob passed away today,” the Saget family wrote in a statement. “He was everything to us and we want you to know how much he loved his fans, performing live and bringing people from all walks of life together with laughter.”
“Though we ask for privacy at this time, we invite you to join us in remembering the love and laughter that Bob brought to the world,” the family continued.

Saget was on a comedy tour and visited several destinations in Florida. The tour was scheduled to go through June 2022. Last night, he performed at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall in Palm Valley, FL and even tweeted out a message of appreciation for his fans.
Saget was most known for his role as Danny Tanner on the popular sitcom Full House, which ran from 1987-1995 on ABC. He went on to reprise his role in the Netflix sequel Fuller House, which aired for five seasons.

In addition to acting, Saget memorably hosted America’s Funniest Home Videos from 1989-1997, a role he held simultaneously while starring on Full House. In 2009, he returned to AFV for the 20th anniversary special co-hosted with Tom Bergeron.
In 1998, Saget directed his first feature film Dirty Work starring Norm MacDonald and Artie Lange. The film received mainly negative reviews and did not do well at the box office, but later became a cult favorite, due partially to Lange’s later popularity on The Howard Stern Show.
In the early 2000s, Saget starred in sitcom Raising Dad, along with Kat Dennings, Brie Larson and Jerry Adler, which aired for one season on the WB. He also voiced the future Ted Mosby on CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother. His other TV credits include a recurring role on HBO’s Entourage, and a starring role in A&E series Strange Days.
In 2019, Saget was announced as host of ABC’s Videos After Dark, and he also hosted the game show Nashville Squares on CMT.
His HBO comedy special, That Ain’t Right, came out on DVD on August 28, 2007. Saget dedicated the special to his father, Ben Saget, who died at age 89 in January that year due to complications from congestive heart failure. Saget’s 2014 comedy album, That’s What I’m Talkin’ About, was nominated for best comedy album at the Grammys.
Saget also was a board member of the Scleroderma Research Foundation. He became dedicated to spreading awareness and raising funds for research for the autoimmune disease after losing his sister, Gay, from the disease in 1993. “I will for the rest of my life remain committed to finding a cure for scleroderma through my work with SRF,” he told NIH MedlinePlus magazine in an interview about his advocacy for the disease.
He is survived by his wife, Kelly Rizzo; three children Aubrey Saget, Jennifer Belle Saget and Lara Melanie Saget; and ex-wife Sherri Kramer.
