Brooklyn Nine Nine star Melissa Fumero gives birth on Valentine's Day

Brooklyn Nine Nine star Melissa Fumero has announced that she’s given birth.

The actress – who plays Amy Santiago in the popular sitcom – has welcomed her second child with husband David on Valentine’s Day.

Taking to Instagram, the 37-year-old wrote: ‘ Welcome to the world, Axel You have made Valentine’s Day my new favorite holiday!’

Melissa and her husband David have been married since 2007, and together they have a three-year-old boy named Enzo.

Her announcement on the pregnancy came four years to the day since she announced her first pregnancy, too.

Last time she was expecting, the team hilariously worked her baby bump into the plot – having Amy go undercover at a women’s prison as a pregnant inmate.

Deciding to give Amy a bump in a bid to make her less likely to be attacked, in one scene she’s seen moving her belly and sighing: ‘I don’t know… do I even look pregnant.’

On screen love interest Jake is then seen moving the ‘fake’ bump as well and in an unsure voice tells her: ‘I mean…I guess I can see it.’

So with season seven being wrapped up as we speak, we can’t wait to see the excuse they come up with this time!

Can we see a Jake and Amy baby on the horizon maybe…?

In slightly less happy news, its also been announced that former series star Chelsea Peretti will not be returning as Gina any time soon.

Terry Crews has admitted that the actress is not set to return for the next run of episodes. Say it isn’t so!

‘As far as I understand, I think she’s always in the family.’ he told People. ‘She came back a couple times last season, which was awesome.

‘I didn’t see her this season, but with season eight, there’s always something.’

Brooklyn Nine-Nine seasons 1-5 are available on Netflix in the UK.
