SUMMER has finally arrived and festival season is well underway.
With so many electronic music festivals to choose from and festival tourism becoming increasingly popular, there are a plethora of international festivals that should be on any discerning raver's radar.
Over the years, Italy's Kappa FuturFestival has risen to become a giant of the European electronic music scene bringing together thousands of passionate techno and house music lovers from all over the world.
The festival takes place this weekend at Parco Dora in Torino, Italy and features an incredible line up of artists including Amelie Lens, The Black Madonna, Boris Brejcha, Charlotte De Witte, Jamie Jones, Dubfire, Peggy Got, Richie Hawtin, Seth Troxler, Solomun, Ricardo Villalobos, Carl Cox, Derrick May, Nic Fanciulli and many more.
We caught up with three big names from the line up to find out what makes the festival in Torino so special.
CARL COX
The Italians really make the party. It's always down to the people there, and they embrace this like you cannot believe. It's open air, there's no kind of closure, there's no tents. I was one of the first DJs to play for them, and it’s great to see it grow into a major festival with worldwide attention. It's phenomenal. This time, I'm gonna be doing a new area which they've created. I'm really looking forward to playing at their new stage and taking that into the next realm.
DERRICK MAY
The crowd at Kappa is one of the best. I have always had a great time. Italy feels like a second home and the Kappa Festival has an energy that can’t be beaten.
NIC FANCIULLI
I've been a fan of what Gigi and the whole Kappa FuturFestival team do for a long time. They have one of the most unique and visually stunning venues in the world, and their programming is always spot on. Our schedules have never matched up, but i'm really happy they did this year, and i can't wait to play the festival for the first time this summer!
Kappa FuturFestival takes place at Parco Dora, Torino, Italy on July 6/7. For more information and tickets head HERE.
