Celebs Go Dating final CANCELLED over Covid fears

CELEBS Go Dating has been forced to cancel filming for the finale and push it back until the New Year.

Bosses made the decision to pull planned filming because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

In a statement show bosses confirmed they were pushing back the dates.

A Celebs Go Dating spokesperson said: “In light of the wider Covid-19 situation currently impacting the UK, filming for our finale is being rescheduled as health and safety remains the top priority.

“We thank our cast, contributors and crew for following our rigorous Covid-19 protocols, which ensure that we can film the series whilst maintaining a safe environment.

“Viewers can look forward to the return of the celebrity dating agency when Celebs Go Dating airs next year.”

An insider added: “The safety of everyone starring on the show and those working on it is a priority.

“It seemed easier, and far safer, to delay filming the final scenes until it is safer to do so in 2022.”

Last week The Sun revealed how Celebs Go Dating had been forced to cancel plans for the stars and their dates to jet off abroad.

An insider said at the time: “It’s a nightmare. Originally it was meant to be abroad but obviously that’s too tricky right now.

“Producers had planned a five night stay in Yorkshire for the celebs and their dates.

“But even that’s had to be scaled down now and they’re just having a dinner.

“It’s not ideal as the end of the series trip really is a highlight but they’re making the best of a bad situation and as always are prioritising health and safety.”

The Sun previously revealed how filming for the E4 show was thrown into chaos after one of the stars caught Covid and, due to them mixing with some of the other famous faces taking part, at least four people were forced to temporarily pull out.

A source at the time said: "It's chaos. One of the celebs caught Covid and was filming with at least three of the other stars, meaning they're all out of the game for a while now.

"It's a worry for producers because, as with most shows, they're on a very tight schedule, but the health and safety of the cast and crew is obviously their top priority."
