Fans of the hit ITV soap Coronation Street have been left stunned as they discovered the age gap or lack of age gap between co-stars Sue Nicholls and Helen Worth.
It was back in the 70s that the duo joined the iconic street playing the iconic mother and daughter duo Audrey Roberts and Gail Platt.
It's fair to say that over the years both Audrey and Gail have had it tough on the cobbles, especially when it comes to family life, and their relationship has become rather strained at times.
That happened most recently in 2022 when Audrey turned to drinking and Gail struggled to help her ageing mother despite her best efforts.
Audrey has even found herself in the midst of a murder plot last year and she has also been drugged by her evil son Stephen Reid.
Luckily for Audrey, Stephen decided to back out of his plan and she has recently managed a trip away from Weatherfield with her grandson Sam.
As the years have gone on, many viewers have been shocked and left distracted when they realise that there is just a seven year age gap between the two stars in real life.
Sue is 79 years old and Helen is only just behind her at aged 72.
One viewer decided to tweet their shock at the age gap saying: "Helen Worth is 71, born January 1951 Sue Nicholls is 79, born November 1943 therefore Audrey gave birth to Gail when she was seven years old… scandalous! #Corrie".
Equally as shocked another Corrie fan complimented the duo saying: "They both look amazing!"
That was a common theme as a third soap watcher said: "They both look great for their age!"
While another added: "There's only about 7 years between them in real life."
Coronation Street continues on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV and ITV X.
