ITV soap fans have been keeping a close eye on Todd Grimshaw (played by Gareth Pierce) on Coronation Street, as he struggles to keep his secrets hidden. In recent scenes on the soap, Todd has been blackmailed and it seems would do almost anything to get the money he needs. He could find himself in big trouble if he’s caught stealing, so could his mother Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver) end up taking the blame?
Regular viewers will know Todd recently recruited the help of a youngster named Will to break up Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) and Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) and his plan was a success.
Todd and Billy are now engaged and Paul has been left the outsider as he watches the pair make wedding plans.
However, things aren’t as happy as they seem because unbeknown to the rest of the Coronation Street residents, Todd is being blackmailed.
Will recently demanded money from Todd, threatening to tell Billy exactly what they did to split him and Paul up if he doesn’t pay up.

Desperate to keep Will quiet, Todd will do almost anything to secure the £5,000 he needs and tonight he was seen sinking to a new low.
He stole money from George Shuttleworth’s (Tony Maudsley) funeral business, but things didn’t quite go according to plan.
When Todd heard George coming he stashed the money in a nearby urn, but George later gave it away to a customer, not knowing the cash was inside.
Later on, Todd told Will he didn’t have the money, saying: “I can’t give you what I haven’t got.”
“Well then ask lover boy,” Will suggested. “He’s obviously loaded. That heat pump he’s just bought that’s seven grand right there.”
“The church bought that not Billy,” Todd replied.
“Ideal! So, you won’t feel guilty when you nick it,” Will said, encouraging him to steal again.
Todd hit back: “No way. I can’t do that to him.”
“Why not? It’s no worse than what you’ve already done,” Will responded.
If Todd is caught stealing from the church he could get into trouble with the police.
This wouldn’t be the first time Todd’s got in trouble with the law as he assaulted a police officer back in 2017.
With this in mind, could Eileen try to protect her son and take the blame for his stealing?
If she does the single mother could face a prison sentence herself, but would she really be willing to take the fall?
Eileen is well known for supporting her son through difficult times and last year even survived a standoff with a human trafficker after Todd got in with the wrong crowd.
She faced the armed and dangerous gangster, ignoring Todd’s warnings for her to keep out of it.
It seems Eileen will go to great lengths to protect her son, so there’s a chance she could end up going to prison for him.
Coronation Street boss Iain Macleod has recently spoken out about Todd’s twisted storyline, teasing ahead to what the future holds for the character.
He said: “The lengths that Todd has gone to in order to get what he wants will be the very thing that will be his undoing in the end.
“Todd gets his happy ending but it’s already got a massive fracture in it.
“In a very explosive, dramatic – again quite thriller-ish – way later in the year, Todd’s machinations will all come to light and he’ll end up losing everything again,” Iain told The Sun.
So, it seems Todd’s antics aren’t over just yet and he could perhaps get himself in even deeper trouble.
Coronation Street continues on Wednesday at 7:30pm on ITV.
