Counting On Season 10 premieres Tuesday, October 15 at 9/8c on TLC with an episode titled “Who’s the Most Romantic?” And from the looks of the teaser trailer the network released a few weeks ago, the new season might be the most dramatic yet, with Duggars dealing with a dramatic birth, a major move, and a tragic death.
Counting On has aired on TLC since 2015. It’s a spinoff of 19 Kids and Counting, the Duggar’s original reality show that was canceled following the revelation that oldest sibling Josh Duggar molested several of his sisters when they were children.
What to expect from the premiere
Counting On fans who have been following Jinger Duggar’s new life in California will definitely want to watch the season premiere. In the hour-long episode, Jinger and her husband Jeremy Vuolo go house-hunting in Los Angeles after he decides to continue his graduate studies at the Master’s Seminary. But pricey real estate and small square footage is making it difficult for them to find the perfect place for them and their daughter Felicity.
Meanwhile, back in Arkansas, other members of the Duggar family are preparing for a camping trip. Later at dinner, one couple makes a special announcement.
A pregnancy photo shoot, Grandma Mary’s funeral, and the sudden arrival of Ivy Jane
“I have a feeling this is gonna be a busy year,” Jim Bob Duggar says at the beginning of the season 10 trailer. He’s not wrong.
With multiple Duggar women expecting this season, it looks like babies are on everyone’s mind. In the trailer, several of the women get together for a pregnancy photoshoot and are then surprised when John David’s wife Abbie asks to join them, thus revealing that she’s expecting baby No. 1. Plus, it looks like we’ll see more of Jessa’s dramatic delivery. She gave birth to her third child Ivy Jane at home in May — 10 days ahead of schedule.
In the trailer, we see a glimpse of Joy-Anna and Austin’s pregnancy announcement, and she’s also at the photoshoot with the other moms-to-be. Unfortunately, Joy-Anna lost her baby at 20 weeks. It’s not clear if that sad event will be seen during this season of Counting On.
Jinger and Jeremy no longer live close to her family in Arkansas, but they’re as big a part of the show as ever, with cameras following along as they make the move from Texas to California. This season will also address Jinger’s decision to wear pants and her mom’s reaction to her changing style.
Viewers should also expect some somber moments during this season of Counting On as the family copes with the sudden death of their beloved Grandma Mary, who passed away in early June.
Counting On airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on TLC.
