Dancing on Ice viewers stunned as finalist Perri Kiely performs dangerous back flip on the ice and gets perfect score – The Sun

DANCING on Ice viewers were stunned as finalist Perri Kiely became the first ever celebrity to do a back flip on the ice.

Despite battling against nerves of a live audience, the Diversity dancer performed the dangerous move – and got a perfect score of 40 out of 40.

"The consequences are seriously dangerous," said Perri ahead of the show.

"One slight thing that goes wrong and it can pretty much end in disaster."

But everything went without a glitch as he threw himself into the air and landed safely on both skates.

He told hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughy: "I was so nervous. I do back flips for days on the floor, but on the ice is a different ball game."

The audience and judges were all up on their feet as Perri's Dancing on Ice skaters cheered to his success.

His Diversity co-star Ashley Banjo told him: I'm lost for words. I'm literally a bit shaky."

One viewer said: "Perri you absolute legend! You just smashed it, I was screaming at my tv when I knew the back flip was coming up! Dance skills aside, not many can comprehend the ridiculous level of difficulty of performing that on ice!!! Just beyond brilliant! #perri #dancingonice #doi"

Another added: "Perri's back flip on ice was the most exciting thing on this show since Ray Quinn did that amazing flamenco routine in 2014. Why can't there be a Dancing On Ice tour this year? I'd love to see that back flip live! #DancingOnIc."

Someone else shouted: "WOW WOW WOW OMG PERRI DID A BACK FLIP AND LANDED IT. congratulations perri best performance of the season."

The 24-year-old has made it to the final with his dance partner Vanessa Bauer and they are up against Joe Swash and Alex Murphy as well as Libby Clegg and Mark Hanrett to win the 2020 series.
