Fans of EastEnders were left rather upset on Wednesday night as Frankie Lewis shared the news that she would be leaving the Square for Scotland in a matter of days.
The teaching assistant played by actress Rose Ayling-Ellis has proven to be a fan favourite since she first appeared on the show in 2020.
But after she told her dad Mick Carter that she found a new opportunity to move away to help a student, avid EastEnders fans thought her exit was rather rushed.

Heading to Twitter upset viewers shared their thoughts.
One social media user wrote: "Frankie's exit is so rushed. She deserves better."
Another confused fan said: "Wait what! Esme's dad had asked Frankie to relocate with them from London to Scotland because he's been so impressed with all her hard work & help. But she only started in the job about a week ago, 2 at tops! So how can he say that. It literally makes no sense.".
A third penned: "Too soon to lose Frankie."
While another viewer echoed: "Frankie's exit doesn't make sense. She's known this girl for 5 mins."
Actress Rose spoke openly about her exit from the show last month.
She said: "It’s been incredibly special to be EastEnders’ first regular deaf actor.
"I have loved my time on the show and Frankie has been such an awesome character to play, however now feels like the right time for me to move on and I am excited and ready for new challenges.
"I will always treasure my time on the show and all the incredible people I have worked with, who have supported my growth as an actor these last two years and given me so many amazing memories."
The star also shared how excited she is for viewers to see her exit storyline.
In a statement, Chris Clenshaw, Executive Producer, said: "I have only had the pleasure to work with Rose for a short time but she has always been an incredible asset to EastEnders; not just as a phenomenal actor, but as an amazing company member too.
"As part of the Carter family, Rose has shone in important narratives such as discovering she’s Mick Carter’s daughter as a result of child abuse; and she will soon tackle the important issue highlighting women’s safety on the streets.
"We at EastEnders are incredibly proud of everything Rose has achieved – she’s a real trailblazer, and we wish her every success."
