EastEnders star Madeline Duggan looks totally unrecognisable 12 years after her BBC soap exit.

The star played Lauren Branning from 2006 until 2010, before the role was taken over by I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! star Jacqueline Jossa.

During her time on the soap, Madeline portrayed key parts of Lauren’s storyline – including a run-in with paedophile Tony King back in 2008.

Lauren was instantly recognisable on the soap with her mouse brown hair worn loose past her shoulders, often seen with a natural look rather than opting for glam make-up.

But now the star looks totally different – and regularly glams up for her loyal Instagram followers.

Celebrating Christmas last year, Madeline took to the social media platform to share a series of incredible selfies on various nights out.

In one snap, she left fans floored as she wowed in a black silk shirt with a plunging neckline, teasing her deep brunette tresses into elegant waves as she pouted for the camera.

For her make-up, Madeline opted for heavy eyeliner to frame her aqua blue eyes, along with pale pink lipgloss to give her that plump look.

Later, she donned a sheer blue jacket adorned with sequins to head to the club with a gang of pals, and could be seen clutching a drink in one hand as she cosied up to her mates.

A black bag embellished with gold chains finished off her ensemble – and it looked like the night was definitely a success.

She cheekily wrote on Instagram: "My liver and bank balance is done with Christmas already…"

The actress has gone from strength to strength since leaving EastEnders – starring in everything from Silent Witness to CBBC show Dani’s House after her exit from Albert Square.

She has also starred in various music videos, including Feeder’s track Borders and Shaduno’s Funhouse.

However, in April 2020 she revealed that she was actually working part-time at a doctor’s surgery amid the Covid-19 pandemic, explaining: “Being an out of work actress doesn’t pay.”

She explained on Twitter at the time: “I know this because I work in a doctors surgery part time (because being an out of work actress doesn’t pay lol).”

The pandemic also came as a chance for Madeline to get more involved in charity work, and in December 2020 she joined a group of celebs including X Factor winner Sam Bailey for a rendition of Shakin’ Stevens’ Merry Christmas Everyone.

The track, which peaked at number two on the iTunes pop chart, raised proceeds for Alzheimer’s Society and Action for Children.
