Honey Mitchell (Emma Barton) has been enjoying a romance with Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) in recent months on EastEnders. The pair hid their relationship from their neighbours for a while as they were worried they were going to be judged given the age gap between them. Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) was certainly one character who struggled to accept the duo as a couple as he still has feelings for the mother of his children. However, in upcoming scenes on the BBC soap, Honey could be leaning towards her ex-husband for support if she discovers she is going to have a third baby.
Billy’s ex-wife already has two children from her first marriage; Janet Mitchell (Grace) and Will Mitchell (Freddie Phillips).
Neither of the pregnancies went according to plan as, when Janet was born, it was revealed she had Downs Syndrome.
Honey struggled to accept her daughter was going to live with the condition but she ultimately fell in love with her child in every respect.
Will was born after his mother was involved in an accident with Jay’s father, Jase Dyer (Stephen Lord), and it was thought he was stillborn until the midwives managed to revive him.
It’s been over a decade since the mother-of-two had her last baby but as her relationship with Jay develops, she could be in for a mighty shock.
The actress who plays Honey and former Strictly Come Dancing contestant, Emma, teased such a twist whilst making an appearance on Tuesday’s edition of Lorraine.
Sitting down with the ITV chat show host, the soap star spoke about her alter-ego’s dramatic love life and how often it fails.
Lorraine Kelly, 61, said in the midst of the interview: “Honey is lovely but [her love life] is a wee bit of a mess.”
Emma replied to her interviewer: “It’s a bit complicated at the moment with Jay and Billy but she’s very, very happy with Jay.
“She wants it all to work well with the family and the children and there is some interesting things coming up.”

Stating that “interesting things” are yet to come could suggest another pregnancy is going to send shockwaves around Walford.
If residents of the Square weren’t gossiping about the couple before, they will certainly be discussing this latest development.
The life-changing news that she is expecting another child would be completely unexpected as Honey thought she would never have another child.
She would also be classed as an older mother being in her forties, a trend that has swept around the Square in recent years.
Sharon Mitchell (Letitia Dean) fell pregnant with Albie when she had an affair with toyboy Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters).
Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) is currently pregnant with Max Branning’s (Jake Wood) baby and they were both a surprise, too.
It seems Honey could be turning to them for advice as she tries to get her head around her life-changing forever.
The news would also be quite a big thing for Jay as the baby would be the first child he has welcomed into the world.
When he was in a relationship with Lola Pearce (Danielle Harold), the young man was thrilled to discover she was pregnant.
Unfortunately, she terminated the pregnancy as she wasn’t sure if the baby was her boyfriend’s or Peter Beale’s (Dayle Hudson).
Having a baby with Honey would be his second chance at fatherhood but the couple’s news might not be welcomed by everyone.
Billy is likely to be furious his surrogate son and his ex-wife are going to be having a baby that will be a sibling to his children.
However, when he confronts his former lover about falling pregnant, he could discover she is really struggling with the life-changing development of her current relationship.
Instead of being an enemy, Billy could explain he is willing to support her and being a friendly face to listen to her woes.
Could an almighty twist see the pair reunite romantically as their feelings for one another resurface?
Emma has previously spoken about acting with her co-stars who plays Honey’s children as she has no children of her own.
The actress explained: “I am very maternal towards them. We’ve had Grace [who plays Janet] since she was a few weeks old, a baby in my arms.
“She’s known me all her life. I feel like her surrogate mum and she calls me ‘Mummy Emma’. Perry is ‘Daddy Pel’. I get on really well with Grace and Freddie [who plays William]’s families. They trust us with them.
“Neither Perry nor I have kids of our own, so it’s lovely,” she told The Mirror.
EastEnders is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
