Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) and Ian Beale’s (Adam Woodyatt) friendship in EastEnders has been destroyed after Sharon discovered that Ian was responsible for Dennis (Bleu Landau) dying.
It was revealed on Christmas Day that Sharon and Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) had joined forces to attack Ian, and the festive episode ended with her trying to kill Ian with a poisoned Christmas pudding!
Sharon is determined to see an end to Ian and as Letitia recently revealed, she’s got a killer plan to get him right where she wants him.
She said: ‘I think Sharon realises that if she doesn’t do something pretty drastic all her malicious hard work will be ruined.
‘Ian’s shown Sharon how he feels, and she hasn’t really manipulated him emotionally throughout their marriage as they both entered it aware of the other’s feelings – or non-existent feelings in Sharon’s case.
‘She’s not pleased about doing it, but she knows that telling Ian she’s falling for him will absolutely have the desired effect – he won’t listen to his mum or anyone else and his world will revolve around Sharon. Perfect!’
Kathy (Gillian Taylforth) is someone who isn’t convinced by Sharon and Ian’s surprise marriage, and Letitia added how she could be the one to discover what Sharon is doing.
She said: ‘Kathy could be the one to make Sharon crack, I think. Sharon knows that Kathy realises something is not right but The Vic will freeze over before she admits defeat!’
Letitia continued, as she explained how Ian wanting nothing to do with his mum after she gave Ben (Max Bowden) a fake alibi plays right into Sharon’s hands: ‘She’s been battling with Kathy anyway and this accelerates things for her – she’s breaking Ian down, ostracising him from his family, although some could say he did most of that himself – and driving a wedge between him and his mum.
‘She’s become very good at playing the doting wife!
‘She’s determined to carry on with her plan and she needs to be very close to Ian in order to do so.’
