EastEnders star Danniella Westbrook has been admitted to hospital following a recent post explaining to fans she had relapsed back onto drugs.

The actress, known for playing Sam Mitchell in the BBC One soap, shared a photo outside a hospital, telling her followers she was ‘back again’.

It is unknown why Danniella was hospitalised.

Metro.co.uk have reached out to Danniella’s reps for a comment on the matter.

Danniella’s trip to hospital comes after the star admitted she had relapsed back onto drugs and was seeking help.

In a recent Instagram post, she wrote:

‘Ok so here goes.. HONESTY POST Ok so it’s no secret since leaving rehab I’ve slipped and slides more than I have been straight I guess. But today I’ve joined a new gym, restarted my herbal life and going back to the rooms tonight. I’m done with the drinking the occasional packet and night out I’m totally over it…

‘Hello I’m Danniella and I’m a recovering drug addict. I’m ready to re work every step, I’m excited to be off service and do what I’m called to giving back to others seeking a solution thanks to this three fold illness of alcoholism and addiction.’

She continued: ‘I haven’t had a rock bottom this time I’m just all over the whole vicious circle that is crippling disease that stops me and from being the best me I can be and from reaching my full potential.’

Recently, Danniella underwent the first of four reconstructive surgeries to ‘rebuild’ her face following years of drug abuse.

The former EastEnders star posted a video on her Instagram Stories just before the operation, explaining to her followers:

‘We have to get it all done before the major surgery starts in a couple of months’ time so it’s the build up to minor surgery, so wish me luck. Scared!’

Danniella has played Sam Mitchell in the BBC One soap on and off since 1990.
