Since fans knew there would be casualties in Super Soap Week – as Corrie became Horror Nation Street and Emmerdale dubbed their episodes Survival Week – fans had been speculating as to who would perish.
And now Emmerdale fans are in bits that just weeks after dad Jamie Tate (Alex Lincoln) supposedly met a watery end, little Millie is set to be an orphan, as her mother Andrea Tate (Anna Nightingale) became the latest victim in twisted Meena Jutla's (Paige Sandhu) killing spree.
"I'm really gutted about Andrea", said one fan, as the dramatic scenes confirmed who wouldn't be walking back into the village next week.
One fan wrote: "Of all the characters they could’ve killed off, why Andrea?"
While another said: "I'm really gutted about Andrea I liked her and @Annanightingale was fantastic playing her."
A third tweeted: "Hoping Andrea somehow left a message in sticks or corn leaves or something revealing what Meena told her!!"
Andrea was left for dead in the burning flames of the maize maze after evil villain Meena delivered a 'fatal blow'.

And for actress Anna, who is due to have her second baby soon, filming the incredible stunt-filled scenes was both daunting and exhilarating. And she admits she had mixed feelings when the production team told her what they had planned for her departure.
"A combination of terror and excitement," admitted the actress, who already has daughter Autumn, with her fiance Daren Dixon.
"I wanted to give it my all and go out on a high. The conversations around stunts and story with production got more exciting each time I spoke to them. Obviously, they knew I was expecting and very much wanted me to be safe and comfortable first and foremost. The most important thing for me was navigating the balance of keeping me & baby safe but doing the best job I could."

And while fans may be mourning, Anna admits that she was thrilled that Andrea's demise was part of such an incredible week for the Yorkshire-based show.
"I’ve had such a great time playing Andrea but after playing her for two and half years I thought now was the time to try something new. I spoke to the producers and the storyline they created for my exit was beyond what I expected."
And Anna admits it's something of a relief that she no longer needs to keep the big secret.
"It’s been a non-stop whirlwind. It’s bittersweet to say goodbye to playing Andrea but what a way to go."
Emmerdale continues on weekdays at 7pm on ITV.
