DAVID Metcalfe spiralled out of control last night after receiving shocking news about his daughter Amba.
But Emmerdale fans are always good at remembering storylines and pointed out one major plot hole.
The shopkeeper portrayed by Matthew Wolfenden was horrified to find out Priya Sharma (departing actress Fiona Wade) was planning on moving to London with Amba (Ava Jayasinghe).
David learned the news through Leyla Cavanagh (Roxy Shahidi) who believed the wedding planner had already told him everything as she vented out her own frustrations.
As viewers will know, Priya accepted a job which was initially offered to Leyla and the latter was heavily considering it.
David was understandably furious at Priya for keeping the news from him but his anger seemed to have subsided in later scenes.

He went along with their previously arranged childcare plans and, after assuring her he was "over" his annoyance, Priya felt safe enough to wave him and Amba goodbye.
However, it was immediately revealed that David had a trick up his sleeve when Amba told him Priya would be taking her on "a forever adventure."
As a response, the owner of David's Shop suggested they go on an adventure of their own, hinting he was kidnapping Amba.
David drove away suspiciously during the instalment's last few minutes – but ITV viewers were having none of it.

"And like the idiot David is, he's gonna make more problems for himself…you have now lost shared custody bruv", a soap viewer penned.
Emmerdale fans remembered that David was recently caught speeding but named Victoria Sugden as the driver to save his driving licence.
