Emmerdale fans point out Cain ‘plot hole’ as Mackenzie threatens police

Emmerdale fans were left confused during Wednesday night's episode after Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) threatened to go to the police with incriminating evidence against Cain (Jeff Hordley) and Sam Dingle (James Hootton).

The Dingle lads forced Jamie Tate (Alexander Lincoln) with booze to then frame him for drink-driving, but Mackenzie, who had broken into Home Farm to steal Jamie's car, filmed the whole conversation.

He showed Cain and Sam the recording on his phone, but they did nothing to try and get rid of the evidence.

Viewers thought it was quite out of character and questioned why Cain did nothing on Twitter.

One said: "Or they could just take your phone off you."

Another wrote: "Why didn't they just try and grab the phone? Oh yeah social distancing."

A third tweeted: "Just whack him and smash his phone. Blimey come on and get rid of him."

Someone else commented: "Definitely those in charge have lost the bloody plot 'cause this is f***ing stupid. Why didn't Cain take the phone off the t***?"

A fifth said: "FFS Cain whack him get the phone and delete the evidence. How hard is that?"

And another added: "Take his f***ing phone off him and kick the s*** out of him, damnit. Emmerdale is annoying the c*** out of me."

Cain had planned to get Jamie back for causing the Dingles some serious trouble, blaming Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper) and Nate (Jurell Carter) for the hit and run.

Plying him with booze, Cain said: "You're gonna have a few of those, then have a few more, then mysteriously you're gonna go for a drive in that new car of yours."

He told him that, after he'd passed out, they would drive him out into the country roads and dump the car in a ditch, before ringing the police.

But Mackenzie overheard the whole conversation and, hearing Jamie offer them cash to stop their plan, decided to help him.

The Dingle lads skulked off with their tails between their legs, with it looking like Cain has really met his match with Mackenzie.
