Exit confirmed as Ryan faces up to a long jail sentence in Coronation Street?

Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) has been watching far too many crime dramas in Coronation Street (haven’t we all), and believed he’d be able to cheat the system and get away with robbing the bistro.

The crime was committed last week, and it saw Ryan stop the electrics in the restaurant so he could steal money from the safe.

It was done because Debbie (Sue Devaney) and Ryan were both – and still are – very skint. They agreed to share the money that would come from the compensation claim so Debbie could get back on her feet and Ryan could leave the cobbles and return to Ibiza.

Obviously, they didn’t get what they wanted.

When Ed (Trevor Michael Georges) confirmed the CCTV didn’t stop when the power went out, Craig (Colson Smith) arrested Ryan for theft after spotting him on the camera footage.

Ryan was released on bail and this week; he will face his hearing.

A lot has changed since Ryan’s initial arrest. He’s since told the police he was coerced into robbing the bistro by men in masks and dropped Ray Crosby’s (Mark Frost) name into the statement, for good measure.

Tonight, desperate Ryan developed the plan further and wondered if he could fake CCTV that backed up the theory he was approached by dodgy gangsters.

Debbie was not prepared to play fancy dress and follow Ryan’s idea, which left him annoyed.

When Ronnie (Vinta Morgan) approached, he delivered some harsh truths to Ryan about his situation.

Ryan finally grew up and accepted he cannot forge CCTV; he just has to wait for the hearing and accept the fact he may go to prison for years.

But will he?

Debbie isn’t preparing herself to tell the police about her involvement, is she going to let Ryan go down?
