Good Morning Britain fans furious as show is replaced by James Martin's Saturday Morning repeat

GOOD Morning Britain fans showed their fury as the show was replaced by a repeat of a cooking show.

Regular viewers woke up on Wednesday morning to see an old episode of James Martin's Saturday Morning being aired, instead of their daily news fix.

Unhappy at the change and absence of GMB hosts including Susanna Reid, those watching ITV rushed to social media to comment.

One wrote on Twitter: "Just turned GMB on to find James Martin Saturday kitchen on instead. On a Wednesday.

"Can't take it. #GMB".

Alongside a meme of fellow chef Gordon Ramsay saying, 'Oh f*** off!', a viewer complained: "Anyone else missing #gmb [Confused face emoji]

"Flipping James Martin's Saturday kitchen".

"Why is that @itv it's not a Bank Holiday today, how very peculiar. #gmb," added one confused person tuning in.

ITV bosses pulled the flagship show off air between Christmas and New Year amid Covid fears – in an unprecedented move.

Telly chiefs made the call to remove Good Morning Britain from the line-up amid mounting concerns among staff and presenters.

GMB has been off air over the Christmas and the New Year break, starting from December 27, 2021.

It is the first time the morning news show has been ditched from the schedules.

A spokeswoman confirmed: “GMB was due to be on air from Weds 29th – Fri 31st December 2021 but due to the pandemic and to protect our teams, we have decided to give them an extended break.

“GMB will not broadcast next week, but will be back on air on Tues 4th Jan 2022.”
